This week the Super Lates came to the home of the Snowball Derby. The race was a no split meaning every one made the same race. The race was won by Samuel Roush in the #9 Dodge. After a few yellows early that knocked a number of cars out of the running, the last half of the race ran nearly all green. NORL drivers Timothy McDonnell and Kevin Corbat came home 8th and 12th respectively.
Bristol Baby, In top split, Loren Hayse put on a clinic. After an early yellow the race ran green for more than 50 laps. It sadly was a poor showing for the NORL as McDonnell finished 10th 3 laps down in top split after the setup proved poor on a longer run. Corbat DNF'd in bottom split after getting caught up in a restart wreck early on.
Top Split this week was won by Sam Roush. Three NORL entries showed up with two making top split. In the Top Split John Battista took the pole and lead 46 laps. Late in the race a caution set up the finish. John stayed out on old tires while the rest pitted. McDonnell lost a lap during the pit stop along with a few other cars. This set up a mad dash for the finish with Battista coming home 4th and McDonnell 9th.
In Split Two, NORL Racer Kevin Corbat dealt with an ill-handling car, playing off a no stop pit strategy to bring home a hard-fought 4th position after running 3rd for the majority of the back half of the race. Winner Ryan Van Ert played the 1 stop strategy for 4 tires and came back from being a lap down to to take the victory.
Next week the NORL/iRacing Super Late Model Series is heading off to Thunder Valley of Bristol Motor Speedway.

Week 1, two NORL drivers entered the iRacing Super Lates race from Southern National. However they found themselves in two separate splits. Either way both races saw some Demo Derby style for parts with about 1/2 of all the cars being retired and over 1/2 finishing with damage. In top split Ty Spearman had a top notch performance and won the race with one of the cleanest cars on track, the top NORL finisher of Timothy McDonnell coming in 7th one lap behind after getting engine damages early on. In Bottom Split, Riley Gentry won and the top NORL driver of Kevin Corbat came home 5th.
Next week the series rolls to Lanier which should see even more cars as it is a free track on iRacing.
