Tony Pizzaro has held the points lead since his victory at Bristol. Despite earning no finishes worse than 23rd since, Ryan Heuser comes in only 10 points behind with the title of defending winner. Road racing favorite Tim McDonnell has gone from 277 points back to only 90 since Martinsville, looking to make it 4 out of 5. He'll be the only one out of the three to qualify inside the top-10. The #12 broke an ignition box during his qualifying round, starting in the back with Alex Crapser. Look for these two to make headway towards the front.

Ben Geer misses the show just weeks after Natick Massachusetts overproduced their Twinkie supply in honor of Geer making the top-35 in points. His DNF in the Coca-Cola 600 has dropped him back to 36th, and failed to qualify for the Sonoma road course. It is a minor setback for Geer, who looks to overperform the doubters next week at the high-profile Bepis 400 weekend. "We'll receive plenty of exposure at Nashville whether we make the race or not. A good finish at Daytona wills end us to the stratosphere again. We're still in good shape. Before this week, Geer had qualified in the top-half of the field in his last five races, including 2nd last week at Gateway. The #29 team lost two laps after a battery failed at the start, earning both back and finishing inside the top-20. This team is too strong to remain off the racetrack.
