Qualifying Results
Tony Pizzaro is on the pole, looking for his 5th-straight top-5 finish to begin the season. He was just a couple of laps away from passing Mark Murphy and Alex Crapser for the win last year, in what was probably the greatest race finish in all of 2020. Those two will start 6th and 12th respectively. Ryan Heuser comes in as the race-day favorite.
John Battista has won the last two Extravaganza Series events in grand style. He has averaged 112 laps led in the past three races, and has qualified no worst than 4th since Daytona. A third victory in-a-row may solidify Battista among the Extravaganza elite, looking to surpass Tim McDonnell and Ryan Heuser in the Championship odds. He finished 5th in this event last season, and looks to continue his treacherous pace without looking back. He will start 18th.
While drivers like John Tharp and Ryan Heuser turn to Phoenix as a turning point in their seasons, Jimmie Stevens is on the opposite end of the spectrum. He comes into the event with an average finish of 9th, and qualifying better than he started in every race so far. The gods are due for him to finish well in the race as well, enduring unfortunate luck last season at this racetrack. He finished outside of the top-30 in both races. He will start outside of the top-30 tomorrow.
