Somewhere inside the history of this speedway lies stories of greatness instilled in the infield grass and on the racetrack asphalt. The first race here was in 1998, the first event after the oval re-configuration. King Joe Dawkins won his first ever event, but the track was scrutinized for it's lack of side-by-side racing. Banking was added shortly afterwards and became a pioneer of the era of triple-groove racing in Extravaganza. 2021 will be the first season to field a spring event at the facility, in hopes of bringing the same excitement to the early part of the season as it does the last.
Current points leader Tony Pizzaro has been the most dominating force at this racetrack by far over the last decade. Neil Justice revolutionized the sport in 2011 with the infamous two-wheel "suicide setup". There was no sway bar, and the springs were set so the right front tire barely gripped the race track. The car would lean fully on the left side, helping the car turn two miles-per-hour faster in the corner than everybody else. Also, the right front tire didn't wear due to the lack of grip, making the car faster during the green flag run. Jeremy Pringle put an end to the car after 2015, leaving him and Neil at odds until this very day.
Pizzaro has finished inside the top-5 at this racetrack in his last three races, including five victories here in 2011, 2012, 2014, 2015 and 2018. Two-time reigning champion Tim McDonnell has won here twice in the past four races, looking to start his season with three-straight top-12 finishes. Jimmie Stevens, Adam Crapser, William Perry and Dalton Lucas look to maintain their top-10 status by keeping up pace with powerhouse drivers. It will be tough at this racetrack, which is known for it's caution-free racing and lack of attrition.
