Dubbed
the "Johnny Cash" of the N.O.R.L., the legend of Cool Ken Pettit lives
on. He won what will probably be the final Sunday Series Championship
after winning half of the 14 events. This four-time Champion deserves
his spot in the N.O.R.L. Hall of Fame. Since
the N.O.R.L. moved to a fixed weather format in all series, setting
track records has been a nearly impossible task for the drivers. Tony
Long broke a post-fixed weather barrier, breaking the first N4
qualifying record since the era began. Tony's lap time of 45.789
destroyed Johnny Reed Foley's old record by over a tenth of a second,
and is sure to persist without challenge until Foley's possible return.
