Matthew Dominique comes into this event with a 34 point lead over Tim McDonnell and an 80 point lead over Ryan Heuser. The spring winner at Rockingham was Johnny Reed Foley, who is only 157 points back and looking to steal away his first Extravaganza Series Championship. There is only three races left, with each of the top-6 still with a realistic chance of taking away the crown.

Zach Michael earned his series leading 6th pole of the season, losing the lead on the first lap to Dave Miller. During the first green flag run, he, John Tharp and Tony Pizzaro swapped the lead several times during the first green flag run.

A crash entering the pits between Jonathan Skrabacz and Brandon Raines during green flag stops nearly put the entire field a lap down by lap 90. Only Ryan Heuser, Tony Pizzaro, Dalton Lucas and William Perry managed to stay atop the leaderboard, with 12 lapped cars in front on the restart. On lap 98, Rick Jackson flew up the turn 3 apron and spun into Aaron Cummings, both hitting the outside wall. Bill Werkheiser and Tony Long were also involved. This put points leader Matthwew Dominique, John Tharp, and John Battista back on the lead lap.

The biggest crash of the season happened on lap 105. Matt Raboin got squeezed between Alan Nesfeder and Ken Pettit, causing the #8 to spin into the outside wall. Matthew Dominique couldn't avoid the Marley car, hitting his right front and down into Dalton Lucas. The two t-boned, and neither car would be competitive for the rest of the day. Matthew would blow up 45 laps later dur to damage from the incident, finish last. He would start the day as the points leader 34 points ahead, and he would finish 3rd in points 84 points behind.

Ben Geer got his lap back during the caution flag, and used his fresh tires to crawl to the lead in less than 20 laps. He and John Battista pulled away from the field, swapping the lead twice before Ben led the next 68 laps. Tony Pizzaro and Ryan Heuser would stay in 3rd and 4th before Pizzaro lost a cylinder, putting William Perry back in the mix.

Ryan Heuser led the field to the lap 218 green flag. John Battista took the top spot on the inside just two laps later. He would lead 22 laps before Craig Lee flew by to take his first lead of the day. The two would swap the lead a couple of times and pull away from the field. A Dan Johnston and Steven Spears infield crash on the backstretch would bunch the field back together 124 laps to go.

Right after the restart, Philip Parker and Randy Dobbins made contact exiting turn 4, spinning the #96 into the rest of the field. Adam Crapser hit the right rear quarter panel before Aaron Cummings and Scott Jackson slammed into his rear, destroying both racecars. Scott wound up finishing 28th after the severe damage, taking him realistically out of the Championship chase after entering the race fourth in points. During the check-up, David Baldinger slammed Matt Raboin and sent him for a frontstretch flip. He would limp on to finish 25th.

Ben Geer made an excellent three-wide move under Battista and Lee to re-take the lead on lap 275. While Johnny Reed Foley pushed for the lead several laps later, new points leader Tim McDonnell made the same exact move entering turn 1 and took the lead himself.

It was a short-lived stint for McDonnell at the helm as Ryan Heuser, Foley and John Battista all flew by him the next lap and pulled away from the pack. Battista led between laps 296 and 305 before Ryan made another pass for the lead. He would lead for the next 11 laps before another swap with Battista put the #39 back on top. They swapped the lead another two times before Craig Lee, Zakk Miller and Donald Stewart pressured the top-2 for the victory. Craig Lee and teammate Ryan swapped the lead once before the last round of green flag pit stops.
