Pole sitter Craig Lee held the lead for a few laps while racing with Dave Miller for the top-spot. Right behind him, Dave and Bill made contact, sending Dave into the outside wall and flipping. Ryan Heuser got by with just a crack in the front valance and kept on trucking.

Craig, Ben Geer and Tony Pizzaro were three-wide battling for the lead, staying that way for over a lap before destruction occurred. Pizzaro took the lead outright and Mark Murphy tried to follow through. Exiting turn 2, Ben was sandwiched between he and the #101 and sent Craig for a tailspin across the racetrack.

David Butterworth got clipped during the incident, nearly escaping without injury. Zakk Miller nailed the drivers-side of the #81 machine, sending Butter through a series of violent flips before getting slammed by Scott Drake. Butter, Scott and Jack Paynter would have to retire from damage in the incident.

A series of small cautions saw several different drivers at the heml. Dale Rosendaul led two laps in the going after passing Alex Crapser, who led one after staying out on old tires. William Perry took over for five laps before points leader Tim McDonnell flew through the field on two new right side tires to take the lead for nearly the entire green flag run.

Just before green glag pit stops, Tim got stuck in traffic and had to halt behind Dale and Steven Spears. Craig Lee re-took the lead, becoming the first two-time leader of the day. Tim wound up short-pitting, leaving Craig up front both before and after their pit stops.

Towards the mid-race point there were a couple of accidents that bunched the field back together. Donald Stewart and Dalton Lucas slammed the outside wall hard and both went airborne. After the next restart, John Tharp had worked his way to second place before his engine shut off. He was hit by Matt Raboin, sending him for a spin that set up a series of minor accidents up ahead. Dan Johnston was stalled on turn 2, while Ryan Heuser went for another tailspin on the backstretch apron.

Ben Geer led the next restart for several laps before his teammate Tim made a pass on the inside grove. After some pit strategy, Ryan Heuser and Matthew Dominique were both able to score three bonus points for leading a lap. As the strategy cycled, it was back to Top Geer Motorsports up front.

Ben passed Tim with less than 100 laps to go and kept a meaningful distance between he and the rest of the field. During the waning stages of the race, Ben ran over debris during a caution flag and was forced to pit, sending him to the tail end of the lead lap. He and Alex Crapser were involved in the next accident after the restart, ending a dream victory for the #29 machine.

With Ben's car destroyed, it was up to Tony Pizzaro, Ken Pettit and Tim McDonnell to rise to the throne during the final 20 laps. Pizzaro took the lead from Tim after getting stuck behind lapped traffic. Ken would fly by in turn 1 just a few laps later. The three would be three-wide racing back to the final caution flag of the race, with Ken out in front.
