Race Recap

Five races left in the 2025 campaign! Logan Sheets wins his second career pole, sweeping both Charlotte events in hopes for his first career victory. "If Tony Gunk can pull it off, we should lap the field!" said Sheets, eating a Hostess blueberry pie. John Battista bought fifteen of them for the race, stashing them inside a converted ash-tray, once used by Dalton Lucas himself. "I started smoking to break up with Dolores (Former Mrs. Extravaganza). It worked, but I became addicted for three weeks. All those cars were sent to the #39 stable." Hopefully Battista will have time to eat all the pies.

The green flag waved, as 300,000 spectators roared with the might of a philharmonic orchestra! A horrendous backstretch crash sent Adam Crapser on his roof on lap-4, catapulting through his own smoke-screen after slamming the inside barrier. He would be okay, dropping to tenth in the standings after a disastrous ride. "The Gods gave us the Chase, but took away our pace!' said Crapser. Dave Miller would limp to 35th after damage from the incident.

Ryan Heuser took the lead from Sheets on lap-27, holding the pace through the first green flag stops. The #138 Quick-Silver Motorsports NOS Energy Chevrolet came in 198-points behind leader Johnny Reed Foley, rebounding with a sixth-place finish at Talladega after three-straight DNF's. A Zakk Miller spin on the frontstretch brought out the second caution, losing a lap as the leaders flew by. Miller would struggle with handling for most of the night, surprisingly satisfied with his eventual 23rd-place result.

Zach Michael, John Battista, Tony Pizzaro and Michael Henson stay out on old tires! Leader Ryan Heuser and Dalton Lucas get nabbed for a restart violation, forcing a stop-and-go penalty and trapped a lap down. Both drivers would race amongst the leaders for the rest of the night, failing to recover from their penalties and finish 20th and 21st. It was equally devastating for both, with Lucas driving "the best car in his stable" and Heuser failing to gain ground in the standings with only four races left.

John Battista took the lead from Zach Michael immediately after the restart! The #39 Wendy's Chevrolet kept pace, proving that slightly older tires could even-out over the course run. By lap-100, points leader Johnny Reed Foley and Markell Murphy tag-teamed him, with Murphy pulling away to a two-second advantage as Logan Sheets, Tony Pizzaro, Dakota Wilkins, Dan Johnston, Ziggy Moonglow, Scott Jackson and Timothy McDonnell battled maniacally for each of the top-10 positions.

Molemar Diggs and Matthew Dominique would succumb to engine troubles throughout the night. A part of the #41's header flew into the racing groove, bringing out the yellow for the third time. Zach Michael's Danger Zone crew put him up front, restarting with the lead for the second time. He and Ziggy Moonglow pulled a Coca-Cola 1-2 punch at the head of the pack, with Moonglow passing him for the lead just after Zach earned the Halfway Bacon Bonus! A Dave Miller crash on the backstretch brought out the fourth yellow flag, eliminating Ziggy's momentum in hopes for his second-straight Charlotte victory.
