Dakota Wilkins holds strong! A third ninth-place finish keeps the #77 Blazin' Pedals Chevrolet atop the heap. He's finished first and second in the last two Pennzoil 400's, hoping to stretch his top-10 streak to six, while extending his 20-point lead over Markell Murphy and Ryan Heuser. 2025 Homestead winner Alex Crapser comes off a second-place performance at California, with he and teammate John Battista finishing inside the top-half in every event! With teammates Adam Crapser and Dalton Lucas mired in the mid-pack smog, it is a welcome sight for the Lucas Racing brigade. Will anybody suffer from the 3,000 mile odyssey back east? Ken Pettit suffered mightily during the excursion, passing his third career kidney stone mid-flight. "I blame the vanilla coke" said Pettit. Naturally, Ziggy Moonglow, Zach Michael and Alan Nesfeder were not amused.
Molemar Diggs attempts to recover! A sub-par start to the season, finishing no better than 27th despite two front-row starting spots. He, Scott Jackson, Ken Joynt, Dalton Lucas, Jimmie Stevens, Trae Larkin and Adam Crapser need a decent run to keep themselves inside the top-35. If not, they may miss the reduced 43-car field at Martinsville. Two Lucas Racing drivers dance on the highwire, heading to a track they've struggled mightily at in the past. Jimmie Stevens struggled to maintain his Daytona Duel speed through the regular season, only 21-points ahead of Ken Joynt for the provisional cutoff. If the #33 Skoal Bandit can sneak their way in, it will be the first time Joynt will earn a provisional in his Extravaganza Series career!
