Points leader Markell Murphy gets stuck on a scissor lift! He was shooting a Red Bull commercial; wearing a wing-suit so he can fly into the local wildlife preserve. From there, he would rummage through the woods, talking to animals through the power of Red Bull! Unfortunately, he never made it. The scissor lift lost power halfway up, with Murphy stuck 70-feet in the air. The wind blew the lift ten degrees in each direction, with padding on all sides in case he fell off. Luckily, the replacement battery finally arrived from Michigan and he was brought to safety.

Race Recap

Zakk Miller wins his first pole in 2026! It's his fourth-straight top-4 starting spot at Darlington, hoping to put Team Danger Zone in the victory column for a third time. The #30 Bepis Mustang would lead the first lap, with teammate Markell Murphy, Bink Lucas and Ryan Heuser fighting maniacally for the second position! Ryan Heuser earned the spot, pressuring Miller before taking the lead on lap-18. Towards the rear, usual contenders John Tharp, Adam Crapser and Jeremy Hebel struggled to find pace.

John Tharp goes for a spin! A blown right-rear tire off of turn-4, getting clipped by Dalton Lucas before a series of gyrations. Despite the limited damage, the #14 Zig-Zag Toyota would limp home to 35th. It's their twelfth-straight finish outside the top-10, dating back from their third-place effort at Charlotte last October. Just a few laps later, Jeremy Hebel and Mark Heron would cascade into the frontstretch pit wall! Both drivers flew on two wheels after the impact, ending Hebel's night with only a scratch of pride! He would finish dead-last in 46th. Heron hobbled home to 36th.

The Fenway Frank #12 takes the lead on lap-52! Heuser would steal it back, with the CFM Motorsports brigade of Timothy McDonnell and Johnny Reed Foley on the charge. Both the #3 and #22 would bypass the Fenway Frank Fusion, only for Pizzaro to pass them back. Pizzaro would re-take the advantage from Heuser on lap-62. Timothy McDonnell made his bid for the lead ten circuits later, dominating the remaining stint. McDonnell's failed to earn a top-10 finish in 2026, hoping to revise his effort at the track "Too Tough To tame"!

The track was "Too Tough To Tame" for Dan Johnston! He and Ken Joynt tangled entering turn-1, with Ken Pettit clipping the rear of the #33. Johnston's car smacked the outside wall with the front and rear before pirouetting into Tony Gunk, leaving a passenger-side scar into the Kelpo Dodge. Chauncey Redmond Jr. knocked the driver-side of Gunk, drifting into Doug Spark. The #03 Caterpillar Volkswagen slid towards the outside wall and into the racing groove. Amazingly, he would not be hit.

Dan Johnston suffered a worse fate. Molemar Diggs pounded the rear of the #121, attempting to escape the wreck on the apron as Johnston's car slid down. Michael Henson clipped Diggs, who came to a stop against Wizards of Speed teammate Redmond against the banking transition. Adam Crapser and Nigel Ramasawmy saw daylight towards the middle, both clipping Johnston's racecar in the process. Johnson was amazingly unhurt! Everyone else exited their cars unscathed, with Johnston, Redmond, Diggs, Henson, Crapser, Spark and Ramasawmy unable to continue.

Restart on lap-86! Tony Pizzaro leads the field, getting passed by Johnny Reed Foley on the ensuing lap. He and teammate Timothy McDonnell pulled ahead before a Steven Spears frontstretch spin on lap-104. Spears would keep pace despite the handicap, coming home to 22nd for his sixth-straight finish inside the top-half of the field. After the restart, McDonnell took the lead for a second time on lap-114. Markell Murphy and Ryan Heuser made several attempts to get by, with Heuser overtaking the Caterpillar #22 on lap-136.

Jimmie Stevens goes for a ride! He and Adam Crapser tangle on the frontstraightaway, sending both cars towards the inside pit wall. The #2 Ampio Mustang gets sandwitched between Crapser and the safer barrier, sending him on a two-wheel X-Games excursion for 500 feet! He would land on all four wheels, continuing on to the amazement of the crowd! Crapser was forced to retire after his second big hit of the night. Up front, Heuser and McDonnell continued to swap the lead.

Points leader Markell Murphy takes the advantage on lap-154! He would lead the field for 11 laps, handing the top-spot back to McDonnell. A short-pit strategy handed the #22 CFM Motorsports Volkswagen an eight-second advantage over Murphy. Suprisingly, he was unable to gain any distance, keeping McDonnell a full straightaway ahead by lap-200. Teammate Johnny Reed Foley was able to pass Murphy for the runner-up spot with 78-to-go. By the end of the fuel run, Foley dismantled the seven-second handicap!

Johnny Reed Foley passed his teammate for the lead with 57-to-go! McDonnell's tires would finally hit the treads, losing seven seconds, yet staying ahead of Markell Murphy, Ryan Heuser, Ziggy Moonglow and John Battista for the runner-up spot. McDonnell was the first to come in with 42 laps remaining. Foley came in four circuits later, with McDonnell edging him out by three car-lengths on pit exit. Three laps later, Foley made his move on the outside, passing his teammate with ease as he sailed into the horizion!

Johnny Reed Foley pulls to a 10.97-second advantage over second place Ryan Heuser! A huge margin of victory, proving that the two-time reigning Champion is back to form after a second-straight victory! He becomes the fourth multiple-win driver in 2026; a feat never accomplished in Extravaganza history. The #3 AC-Delco Chevrolet also takes the lead in laps led and consecutive races at the helm with six. Congratulations to Johnny Reed Foley, crew chief Ronnie Pressley and the entire CFM Motorsports organization for an excellent victory!
