After a Consolation Race won by Scott Deutsch, the 11-car field was finally set. Tony Pizzaro grabbed the pole with a speed of 47.069 seconds. He's no Bill Elliott, but he seems to be the favorite heading into tonight's race. Craig Lee and Dan Johnston were without teammate Ryan Heuser giving them a boost, giving QSM a rare disadvantage from the start. Either R2W or Top Geer Motorsports were going to dominate the beginning of this one, and it proved to be correct:
Fifth N.O.R.L. All-Star Race Goes Green!
Ken Pettit takes the lead on Lap 3
Tony Long flies by on the outside lane
Butter has problems, goes to the garage
Ken fight's back on the backstretch
Even Honda's can bump draft!
Dan Johnston spins and saves on Lap 11!
Tim passes Ken after the first caution
Ben Geer follows and takes it himself
Ken gets his third lead of the night
Dan's teammate Craig spins and saves
Turn two chaos ensues on lap 23!
Ben and Tony Long go for a wild ride,
but come out with minimal damage.
After the second yellow flag of the night, Glenn Kaufmann would stay out to lead one lap. Ken Pettit would retain his lead after a fuel-only pit stop with Tim McDonnell and friend Scott Deutsch right on his tail. One can easily guess what's about to happen next.
