Ken Pettit restarts on point with 54 laps to go after an incident between Ben Geer and Tony Long. The middle part of this event was dominated by #8, who led more than half of his 31 laps during this section of the race. We also saw an increase in wrecks, one of which ended up taking out our Consolation Race Winner:
Ken Pettit and Tim McDonnell restart 1-2
Dan and Brodrick Wittmann tangle!
Glenn Kaufmann flies over Brodrick after he
hits the wall and flips! Both stay in the race
with moderate damage
Craig Lee takes his first lead on lap 39
Ken and Craig make contact after the
lead exchange, sending Ken for a ride!
Scott Deutsch gets the worst of it,
forcing him to retire from the race
Dan makes a 3-wide move for the lead
Ben takes it back before Dan leads a lap
Glenn Kaufmann spins in turn 4!
With 30 laps to go on the next restart, the All-Star Race is in the midst of it's first fuel mileage finish. Tony Long, Craig Lee and Brodrick Wittmann all topped-off for gas on the last lap of the caution flag. Ben Geer will remain our leader heading into turn 1.
