60-laps for a chance at $1,000,000 and the Daytona 500 pole! High-rankers Johnny Reed Foley, Ken Pettit, John Battista, Zach Michael and Alex Crapser all battle for victory in a 27-car cavalcade, hoping to finish the event without a toe truck, gurney or hearse! Chauncey Redmond Jr., Mark Heron, Jonathan Skrabacz, Steven Spears, Tony Gunk, Ken Joynt, Larry Sheldrake and Petey J. Zehler batle for the top-4 amongst themselves to make the Daytona 500 field!

Daytona Duel #1 Results

Chauncey Redmond Jr. pulls a majestic lap! The first go-or-go-homer to earn the pole in a Daytona Duel, leading the first eight laps as the big teams scramble for position. Cristian Torres, Alan Nesfeder and Rob Scarberry all take turns at the front in a tag-team underdog effort. As Redmond scrambled to the back, Champion Johnny Reed Foley meandered from his 24th starting spot to take the lead on lap 12.

Miracle-men Matthew Dominique and Matt Raboin contradict their Viper's lack of qualifying speed by pulling to the front before lap 15. Tony Pizzaro, Ken Joynt, Ken Pettit, Markell Murphy and Alex Crapser revitalize their spirits by leading the field early, knowing they have the speed to keep pace with the top-dogs. Joynt prays to stay up front with teammate Mark Heron losing the draft early.

Petey J. Zehler failed to keep pace in his Reese's Cup Petizione Chevrolet. He and fellow Bonanza Series regular Larry Sheldrake finished 32nd and 58th in the Bonanza Series points in 2024, using their high-ranking sponsorship as a boon to the Daytona 500 promised-land! Both of them would lose the draft, with former Bonanza Champion Mark Heron also losing his grip with the front-runners. He and Sheldrake drafted together, hoping for a caution flag while Zehler got thrown to the lead lap wolves.

Jonathan Skrabacz, Cristian Torres, Alan Nesfeder, Johnny Reed Foley, Dan Johnston, Markell Murphy, Chauncey Redmond, Rob Scarberry, Logan Sheets and Alex Crapser all took turns at the top. Entering the pits up front ensures an invitation to the front pack after green flag stops, with Torres and Pettit leading the field by the lap-40 window. 24 of the 27 cars remained in the lead pack, with Ken Joynt, Jonathan Skrabacz, Tony Gunk, Chauncey Redmond and Steven Spears fighting defiantly to squeeze into the Daytona 500 field.

A daring strategy by the #65 Mello Yello team, coming in by himself on lap 42 after narrowly hanging on to the draft. To everyone's surprise, he came out in the lead group! Everyone behind Pettit and Torres staggered on and off the gas during their stops, losing several seconds as the #65 roared past on the backstretch merge. Ken Joynt came in two laps later, taking enormous time on the fuel and coming out behind Spears, Redmond, Skrabacz and Gunk.

Marley-man Ken Pettit comes out on top! Cristian Torres failed to keep pace, losing spots to Alex Crapser, Steven Spears, Tony Pizzaro and Markell Murphy. Crapser's #04 Pennzoil Chevrolet made multiple charges during the final 10-lap shootout, but to no avail. The Race-2-Win horsepower was beyond measure, handing Pettit his second-straight Daytona Duel victory and first career Daytona 500 pole!

Ken Pettit looks to break the John Tharp and Alex Crapser stranglehold on the Daytona 500! A well-earned victory, capitalizing over Lucas Racing's dominant restrictor-plate program. Look for Race-2-Win to continue their rapid pace during the oncoming campaign. Also congratulations to Jonathan Skrabacz, Chauncey Redmond Jr., Steven Spears, and Tony Gunk for making the 2024 Daytona 500 field!
