Ben Geer listened to Donald Fagan on the radio. "This guy is boring!" he said. "I used our chop saw to slice the radio, but he was still singing! We can't get away from the man." Horrible luck has been a staple for the #29 Twinkie team, failing to win since 2017 at Michigan. He hopes to break the mold tonight! A front-row start for the Daytona 500 goes to the winner. Ziggy Moonglow, Steve Inkman, Mike Carroll, Geno Sphere, Doug Spark, Kevin Corbat, Nigel Ramasawmy, David Baldinger, Rod Weston, Tom Barber and David Courtney fight for six spots amongst themselves to make the big show.
Daytona Duel #2 Results

Veterans Rick Jackson and Craig Lee lead the procession! The #44 "Whiplash Whopper" crosses the line to lead the first circuit, with Craig Lee taking the reigns through lap five. Lee's horsepower holds true after his Bud Shootout victory, hoping to become the first Extravaganza driver to sweep Speedweeks. He, Jackson and teammate Ryan Heuser would command the field through lap 15.

A battle for the ninth position between Zakk Miller, Donald Stewart and Jeremy Hebel severed the field! Heuser, Lee, Jackson, Timothy McDonnell, Molemar Diggs, Mike Carroll, Ziggy Moonglow and rookie Doug Spark pull ahead while John Tharp attempts to curtail the four-second gap before pit stops. Up front, Timothy McDonnell helps boost Heuser, Lee and Jackson in their eight-car cavalcade to the promised land!

Kevin Corbat, David Baldinger and Tom Barber all lost the slipstream early. A terrible break for Corbat, attempting to run the entire season for the first time since 2021. Barber works with Jimmie Stevens to buy time for a caution, while Baldinger and Corbat drop to the lead lap invasion. Up front, Ziggy Moonglow, Mike Carroll and Doug Spark eat high on the hog! Geno Sphere, Rod Weston, Steve Inkman and David Courtney battle defiantly for the final three Daytona 500 spots.

Quick-Silver Motorsports used the "herbs and spices" moniker to describe their new engine program for 2025! Dave Miller placed a Kentucky Fried Chicken banner over the shop, fueling their hunger after losing the Championship in 2024. "Our new lubricants are divine!" said crew chief Sonny Sundae. In an attempt to elaborate, he sifted grease out of a chicken and poured it into the gas can. It appears the mind games have commenced.

Craig Lee and Rick Jackson dominate the remaining stint, pulling to a ten-second advantage over the second pack after John Tharp lost the lead. Jackson, Molemar Diggs and Mike Carroll lead the charge the pits with 17-laps remaining, hoping to use Steven Spears's strategy in Duel #1 to win the event. It backfired, with Craig Lee and Timothy McDonnell completing the stops on top! Tom Barber and Nigel Ramasawmy would lose a lap during the cycle, leaving Moonglow, Spark, Carroll, Courtney, Weston, Sphere and Inkman to fight for their lives!

Geno Sphere and Steve Inkman battle for the final transfer! A miraculous pass on the inside gives Geno the advantage on the final lap, with draft help from former Subway teammate Tom Barber. Up front, Craig Lee and Timothy McDonnell pulled away from the field. The NOS Energy horsepower kept his Volkswagen counterpart behind, with McDonnell suffering from the lack of draft help. Lee crosses the checkered flag uncontested for a second-straight Speedweeks victory!

The #101 NOS Energy Chevrolet led 31 of the 60 laps, dominating the field like jiffy pop dominates the stovetop! A two-car breakaway hasn't occurred in decades, with 42 teams forced to step up to the plate. Congratulations to Lee, crew chief Pokey Reese and the rest of the Quick-Silver Motorsports organization for a front-row start in the Daytona 500! Also congrats to Ziggy Moonglow, Doug Spark, Mike Carroll, Rod Weston, David Courtney and Geno Sphere for making the Daytona 500 field!
